Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Oral diseases in the pediatric population represent a significant public health concern, impacting not only the immediate oral health of children but also their overall physical, emotional, and social development. The prevalence of these disorders, which include dental caries, malocclusion, periodontal diseases, and oral mucosal lesions, has been shown to vary widely across different demographic and socioeconomic groups, underscoring the need for a comprehensive understanding of their epidemiology. These disorders not only contribute to pain and discomfort but can also hinder children’s ability to eat, speak, and socialize effectively, leading to potential long-term consequences, such as poor self-esteem and academic challenges. Furthermore, the effects of oral health on systemic health, particularly in young patients with chronic conditions, highlight the intricate relationship between oral and general health, making it imperative to address these issues holistically.

The aim of this Special Issue is to underline the importance of multidisciplinary approaches, the usefulness of advanced technologies, and the importance of patient safety.
