Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
New media technology includes various types of applications whose purpose is to transfer information via digital techniques, computerized systems or data networks, including social networking sites, as well as blogs and video sharing sites. This type of media has also greatly advanced information technology through applications that connect to the Internet. Geographic Information Service is one of the new paradigms which can provide spatial data storage, analysis, and presentation via new media. New media have hence become not only the communicator and provider of spatial information, but also the spot of convergence of spatial big data which come from various kinds of sensors and social networks, offering us an excellent opportunity to conduct research on all aspects of physical, social, and knowledge spaces, as well as present it to the users and the public, in turn offering us new knowledge and new insights. The new media-based Geographic Information Service has provided us with plenty of scientific and technological challenges, which include IoT, big data, computer vision, AI, scientific visualization, and various more cutting-edge topics. This Special Issue will gather worldwide scientists with the aim to explore these topics. All contributions covering these themes are therefore welcome.
