Clinical Neurobiology, Precision Psychiatry and Artificial Intelligence

A section of Psychiatry International (ISSN 2673-5318).

Section Information

The Section of Clinical Neurobiology, Precision Psychiatry, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) is dedicated to elucidating the biological underpinnings of psychiatric disorders, aiming to bridge the gap between basic neuroscience, translational research, and clinical application. This section emphasizes a mechanistic understanding of mental illnesses across genetic, molecular, cellular, systems, and behavioral levels, with the goal of informing individualized approaches to diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment. By promoting research at the intersection of clinical neurobiology, AI, and precision psychiatry, the section aims to contribute to a deeper and more individualized understanding of mental disorders, ultimately improving clinical outcomes.

We welcome original studies, reviews, and methodological advances that explore the neurobiological substrates and precision-based frameworks of psychiatric disorders. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Neurochemistry and molecular pathways;
  • Genetics, epigenetics, and gene–environment interactions;
  • Neuroimmunology and inflammation;
  • Biomarkers, physiological measures, and predictive modeling;
  • Neuropharmacology and neuromodulation;
  • Computational psychiatry and stratification strategies for precision psychiatry.
