The 50th annual conference of the North American Thermal Analysis Society is being held jointly with the 8th Baekeland Symposium to bring those communities together. NATAS offers scientists and practitioners the opportunity to explore the frontiers of thermal analysis, rheology, and materials characterization, learn of developments in instrumentation and software, as well as applications in a variety of industrial settings. The Baekeland Symposium has a record of showcasing the latest scientific, technical and industrial innovations in the field of high performance thermosetting polymers. This year is the first joint meeting of the two organizations and is expected to provide opportunities for new collaborations and exchange of ideas. Presentations and posters by renowned scientists and graduate students set the stage for excellent discussions and an ideal environment to learn about state-of-the-art techniques and exciting new developments in thermal analysis and materials research.

We are pleased to announce that the 49th annual meeting of NATAS cwill be held in Rockville, MD, a beautiful city that is part of the Washington D.C. National Capital Area, on the DC metro system (allowing easy access to Washington museums and sites), and close to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Naval Research Laboratory (NRL), Army Research Laboratory (ARL), Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU-APL), Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Georgetown University, George Washington University, George Mason University, and the University of Maryland. The North American Thermal Analysis Society is a venerable organization that offers scientists and practitioners the opportunity to explore the frontiers of thermal analysis, rheology, and materials characterization. The NATAS meeting always features new developments in the science of thermal analysis as well as applications of these techniques in a wide variety of fields. The meeting includes exhibits from vendors allowing for personalized attention and connecting with providers of instrumentation and software related to thermal analysis. Following the successful first-ever virtual NATAS Conference in 2021, we now hope that you are all dreaming of traveling again and that the 2022 NATAS Conference is on your list. The venue will be the historic Case Western Reserve University (CSWU) campus in downtown Cleveland. We are looking forward to seeing you in person, beginning with a welcome reception on Monday, August 1st in the beautiful Havorka Auditorium along with our vendor exhibition. Then, the week will be full of concurrent lecture sessions plus the prestigious NATAS Short Course in thermal analysis. The room block will be at the Courtyard by Marriott University Circle at a rate of USD 165 per night. We thank them for their flexibility during the various stages of this pandemic.
