Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Simulation-based education has become an essential pillar in contemporary nursing curricula, offering safe, controlled, and immersive environments for students to acquire and refine clinical, technical, and interpersonal skills. The integration of simulation—ranging from high-fidelity manikins to virtual reality and standardized patients—has transformed how nursing students experience and engage with clinical learning, bridging the gap between theory and practice while enhancing patient safety and professional competence.

This Special Issue aims to explore the latest innovations, pedagogical frameworks, and outcomes related to simulation-based education in nursing. We welcome submissions that investigate novel simulation modalities, curriculum integration strategies, faculty development, interprofessional simulations, evaluation tools, student outcomes and AI-driven tools in education. Research articles, pilot studies, systematic reviews, and theoretical contributions are encouraged.

By gathering diverse international perspectives, this Special Issue seeks to provide nursing educators, researchers, and curriculum designers with evidence-based insights and innovative strategies to elevate simulation pedagogy. Ultimately, this Special Issue aims to inform best practices and foster scholarly dialogue on the future directions of simulation in nursing education.

If you hope to contact the editorial team before submission, please do not hesitate to reach out to Professor Caterina Galletti at c.galletti@unilink.it for assistance.
