Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

This Special Issue on “Novel Membrane Separation Techniques for Environmental Protection Applications” aims to present the state-of-the-art developments in environmental protection applications of various membrane separation processes. Currently, membrane technology is considered promising in the battle to save our environment from present and future threats. Membranes are also indispensable to a wide range of environmental-related applications, such as wastewater treatment, gas separation, water purification, renewable energy, and recycling fields. Hence, it is very important to present and explore every aspect of novel membrane technology applied in environmental protection.  

This Special Issue focuses on novel membranes developed and applied for environmental protection. All aspects of membranes, from formation until application, may be presented in this Special Issue. In addition, there are no restrictions on the types of membranes applied (inorganic, organic, composite, MF, UF, NF, RO, gas separation, etc.).

We are pleased to invite researchers, academics, engineers, industrialists, and users of membrane technologies applied in environmental protection to submit original research articles and reviews. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Synthesis and applications of inorganic membranes for water/wastewater treatment or gas separation processes
  • Synthesis and applications of polymeric membranes for water/wastewater treatment or gas separation processes
  • Mixed-matrix membranes and composite membranes for environmental applications
  • Process design of membrane-integrated processes for environmental applications

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Membranes is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
