Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The increasing complexity of engineering systems and the demand for adaptive and intelligent control methods have positioned intelligent optimization as a cornerstone in modern scientific and industrial advancements. As technological innovations continue to shape various sectors, intelligent control systems that can adapt to uncertain, dynamic, and complex environments are gaining significant attention. In particular, fuzzy systems and metaheuristic algorithms have proven to be highly effective in solving complex optimization problems and enhancing control strategies across diverse engineering applications.
Intelligent optimization techniques, including fuzzy logic and bioinspired metaheuristics, have demonstrated their ability to address challenges in control systems, automation, and decision-making processes. These approaches are increasingly being adopted in industries such as manufacturing, energy, robotics, and autonomous systems. The integration of intelligent optimization with engineering applications not only enhances system performance but also enables real-time decision-making and robust control, making it essential for the advancement of intelligent systems and Industry 4.0.
The purpose of this Special Issue is to bring together original research and review articles that reflect the latest developments and innovative applications of intelligent optimization and control. We welcome contributions that address the theoretical and practical aspects of fuzzy systems, metaheuristics, and their integration into engineering applications. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, fuzzy control systems, metaheuristic optimization algorithms, hybrid intelligent systems, real-time control applications, and the use of intelligent optimization in industrial processes and autonomous systems.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Mathematics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
