Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Uncertainty exists widely in complex systems, such as autonomous robotics, smart grids, industrial processes, and multi-agent networks, where dynamic interactions, incomplete data, and nonlinear behaviors pose significant challenges. These uncertainties may arise from fuzzy parameters, probabilistic disturbances, imprecise measurements, or incomplete knowledge, necessitating advanced modeling and control strategies. Intelligent control approaches including adaptive learning, AI-driven decision-making, and hybrid model-based data-driven techniques are essential to address these challenges while ensuring robustness and efficiency.
We invite contributions on theories, algorithms, and real-world implementations that bridge complex system modeling with intelligent control under uncertainty. Submissions may cover uncertainty quantification in complex system modeling, learning-based control optimization, or interdisciplinary applications demonstrating robustness in uncertain environments.
This research topic focuses on uncertainty-aware modeling and intelligent control in complex systems, leveraging methodologies such as: (1) uncertainty representation with fuzzy sets, rough sets, Dempster–Shafer theory, and/or probabilistic graphical models. (2) Machine learning for control with reinforcement learning, deep neural networks, and/or transfer learning for adaptive system behavior. (3) Fusion and decision-making with Bayesian inference, Kalman filtering, and/or Dempster evidence-based fusion rules to integrate heterogeneous data. (4) Applications in resilient power systems, autonomous vehicles, and/or biomedical engineering.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Mathematics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
