Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The rapid development of information technology is profoundly transforming various industries, enabling real-time data collection, processing, and transmission through the extensive interconnection of smart devices, sensors, and various intelligent systems. However, with the surge in the number of IoT devices and the expansion of application areas, IoT systems face numerous challenges, including computational efficiency, data processing capability, information security, network latency, etc. Therefore, there is an urgent need for innovative computational methods, algorithms, and models to optimize the performance and reliability of IoT systems. This Special Issue aims to showcase cutting-edge research in the field of IoT and information security, focusing on innovations in smart computing, data processing, distributed computing, energy-efficient algorithms, and information security. The topics of interest for this Special Issue include cover edge computing, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, communication technologies, IoT architecture design, sensor networks, etc.

We look forward to receiving your interesting submissions.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Efficient computational methods, algorithms, and models for intelligent IoT systems;
  • Computational logic and algorithms for edge computing and cloud computing in IoT;
  • Distributed computing and data processing technologies;
  • Real-time data collection, processing, and transmission optimization for IoT devices;
  • Applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning in IoT;
  • Intrusion detection and defense technologies;
  • Applications of artificial intelligence in IoT data privacy protection;
  • Software security and vulnerability detection algorithms;
  • Distributed network security frameworks and architecture design;
  • IoT performance optimization based on communication technologies;
  • Large-scale data processing and storage in IoT.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Mathematics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
