Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
In recent years, numerical analysis and mathematical modeling applied to engineering processes have evolved from supporting tools into central drivers for solving complex real-world problems. They enable not only a deeper understanding of physical phenomena but also the optimization of processes, the reduction in experimental costs and the design of more efficient and sustainable systems.
This Special Issue, entitled "Application of Numerical Analysis and Mathematical Modeling in Engineering", aims to bring together high-quality and timely contributions on the development and application of mathematical models and numerical methods across a broad range of engineering fields. We warmly invite the submission of original research articles addressing the development, implementation, validation and performance of computational models and techniques focused on real-world applications.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Applications of numerical analysis to engineering problems;
- Mathematical modeling of industrial, energy and environmental processes;
- Fluid mechanics, heat transfer and transport phenomena;
- Dynamical systems and process simulation;
- Advanced numerical methods for ordinary and partial differential equations in engineering applications;
- Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and advanced simulation techniques, supported by rigorous and transparent mathematical formulations;
- Optimization and computational analysis in process engineering, including analytical and/or experimental validation;
- Integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning in mathematical modeling;
- Hybrid methods and innovative computational approaches applied to engineering challenges.
We hope this Special Issue will serve as a valuable platform for disseminating scientific and technological advances that contribute to the progress of modern engineering, while fostering interdisciplinary collaboration among researchers and practitioners.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Mathematics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
