Historically, tourism development has often been driven by market forces, sometimes leading to unsustainable practices that compromise natural and cultural resources. Integrating robust land policies can mitigate these negative impacts, fostering sustainable tourism that benefits local communities and preserves the environment.
The exploration of land policy's role in tourism is timely and significant due to increasing global tourism activities and the subsequent pressures on land resources.
