PECSRL 2020

The 29th Session of the Permanent European Conference for the Study of the Rural Landscapes, biennial International conference -Living together in European Rural Landscape– will be held in September 2020 in Jaén and Baeza (Spain). It will be hosted by the University of Jaén and the UNIA-Antonio Machado in Baeza.

The Conference brings together geographers, historians, landscapes architects, archeologists, ethnographers, ecologists, rural planners, landscape managers and all other scholars interested in European landscapes.

The PECSRL 2020 is especially focus on the following issues:

  • Living together with (or despite/against) nature and climate change in the rural/natural/urban landscape
  • Living together with other people and cultures (locals, immigrants, tourists, insiders/outsiders, neighbors etc.) in the landscape
  • Living together with the social, economic, cultural/ heritage past in the landscape
  • Living together towards future processes, dynamics and change in the landscape
  • Research and scientific inroads in sustainable and democratic/ participatory ways of living together: theory, methodology, tools, policies.

Also an important matter of 2020 it is the 20th anniversary of the European Convention of Landscape and for that we particularly welcome paper related with the implementation of the ECL along Europe.
