Digital transformation is reshaping the foundations of entrepreneurship and innovation. New technologies and their applications—including artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud computing, the Internet of Things (IoT), big and open data, digital platforms, digital twins, robotics, VR and AR, 3D printing, etc.—are enabling the emergence of groundbreaking business models and transforming existing ones. Innovative applications of novel technologies are redefining how value is created, delivered, and captured across industries, societies, and ecosystems. This special section of JTAER invites high-quality research that explores how digitalization and organizational and technology-driven innovation enable opportunities to solve various problems, foster sustainability, and generate new sources of competitive advantage.

We seek conceptual, empirical, and case-based studies that provide insights into how entrepreneurs and organizations can harness digital technologies to address contemporary challenges, create societal value, and build resilient, adaptive business models.

Topics of interest include (but are not limited to) the following:

We welcome interdisciplinary perspectives drawing from information systems, entrepreneurship, management, marketing, and economics.

Through this special section, JTAER aims to advance the scholarly understanding of how digital technologies and innovation reshape entrepreneurship and business models—helping enterprises and societies thrive in the digital age.
