Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Resistance training provides a set of stimuli that span neural, structural, and hormonal levels, which form the basis of both acute and long-term adaptations. Furthermore, resistance training has been associated with improvements in neurophysiological features, such as quality of life and performance, and these benefits have been consistently reported in various populations, including those who are sporty, active, or sedentary, as well as young people, adults, and the elderly.
Resistance-training-induced effects have been widely acknowledged and consistently reported in the literature, and resistance training itself can be performed through a myriad of modalities, spanning from different exercises and variations to different contraction-biased modalities, i.e., traditional, concentric-, or eccentric-biased. The outcomes of these depend on several independent variables.
Consequently, for both reproducibility purposes and to achieve a better understanding of resistance training stimuli, a deeper examination of its biomechanical and neuromuscular parameters is needed and may help customize resistance training accordingly. Additionally, this would also help characterize the stimuli of a given resistance training modality.
I therefore invite you to submit original studies or review articles to the present Special Issue, and I am confident that your research will improve the state of the art of resistance training.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Journal of Functional Morphology and Kinesiology is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by MDPI.
