Inorganics 2024 Young Investigator Award
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce that Inorganics is now inviting nominations for the Inorganics 2024 Young Investigator Award. This prize will be given to one young investigator in recognition of their excellence in the field of inorganic chemistry. All nominations will be assessed by an Award Evaluation Committee led by the journal’s Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Dr. Duncan H. Gregory.
The Prize
– CHF 2000;
– Option to publish one paper free of charge in Inorganics after peer review before the end of 2025;
– An electronic certificate.
Eligibility and Requirements
– Must have received their PhD no more than 10 years prior to 31 December 2024;
– Must have produced ground-breaking research and made a significant contribution to the advancement of inorganics chemistry;
− Candidates must be nominated by senior scientists.
List of Documents for Nomination
– Detailed Curriculum Vitae, including an updated publication list and a list of the researcher’s own research grants;
– Scanned copy of doctorate certificate;
– Signed nomination letters from two established senior scientists.

Inorganics 2022 Best Paper Award
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the “Inorganics 2022 Best Paper Award” for research and review articles published in Inorganics in 2022. One review and two research articles will receive an award each. The papers will be selected after a thorough evaluation by the journal Award Committee led by the Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Dr. Duncan H. Gregory.
Eligibility for the Award:
– Papers published in Inorganics in 2022;
– Open to all career levels;
– Both regular and Special Issue submissions will be considered.
Selection Criteria:
The papers will be selected by the journal Award Committee according to the following criteria:
– Scientific merit and broad impact;
– Originality of the research objectives and/or the ideas presented;
– Creativity of the study design or uniqueness of the approaches and concepts;
– Clarity of presentation;
– Citations and downloads.
The Prize:
– One review award: CHF 300 and a chance to publish a paper free of charge in Inorganics in 2024 after peer review;
– Two research article awards: CHF 300 and a chance to publish a paper free of charge in Inorganics in 2024 after peer review.
– Each winner will also receive a certificate.
The winners will be announced on the journal website in April 2024.

Inorganics 2023 Young Investigator Award
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce that the winner of the Inorganics 2023 Young Investigator Award is Prof. Dr. Nicholas Rolston.
Prof. Dr. Nicholas Rolston is an Assistant Professor at Arizona State University, Phoenix, USA. He received his Ph.D. degree from Stanford University in 2020. He has already published one book chapter, 40 journal papers, and numerous conference papers.
Prof. Dr. Nicholas Rolston's research at ASU focuses on understanding fundamental material properties in thin-film energy devices on length scales from angstroms to meters and developing scalable, open-air deposition methods to produce robust, low-cost solutions toward the goal of manufacturing the next generation of renewable energy technology. The fundamental core of his research program is his molecular design approach to applied technological needs. His efforts build on a strong record of accomplishment and positions him to conduct transformative research with innovations in engineering improvements for energy materials and devices. The recent work of his group has been conducted in the field of inorganic chemistry: all-inorganic perovskite photovoltaics, inorganic solid-state electrolytes for next-generation batteries, and inorganic SSEs.

As the awardee, Prof. Dr. Nicholas Rolston will receive an honorarium of CHF 2000, an offer to publish a paper free of charge before 2024 in Inorganics after peer-review, and an electronic certificate.

Inorganics 2018 Travel Award
Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Evaluation Committee, I am pleased to announce the winner of the 2018 Inorganics Travel Award. This award was granted to Marta Falcone, a PhD student in Professor Marinella Mazzanti’s group at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). Ms. Falcone is planning to present her work “Small Molecule Activation at Multimetallic Uranium Nitrides” at the Gordon Inorganic Chemistry Conference “Innovative Advancements and Technical Challenges that Span the Periodic Table”. The award consists of 800 Swiss Francs towards attending this conference.
The final decision was extremely difficult to make given the extraordinary number of high quality applications that were received. We would particularly like to thank all the applicants for their submissions and congratulate Ms. Falcone on her success.

Inorganics 2017 Travel Award
Dr. Franz’s research interests focus on the isolation of low-coordinate and electron deficient main group metal complexes, as well as molecular higher-coordinate metal hydrides. He is planning to present his work “Coordination chemistry and applications of N-heterocyclic imino complexes of boron and silicon” at the International Conference on Phosphorus, Boron and Silicon—PBSI 2017. The award consists of 800 Swiss Francs towards attending this conference.
The final decision was extremely difficult to make given the extraordinary number of high quality applications that were received. We would particularly like to thank all the applicants for their submissions and congratulate Dr. Franz on his success.
