Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

This Special Issue explores innovative research and practice in promoting mental health and wellbeing among (im)migrant populations, including refugees, asylum seekers, and undocumented individuals. As global migration patterns intensify due to sociopolitical unrest, climate change, and economic disparity, the psychological impact of displacement, acculturation stress, and systemic exclusion is becoming increasingly urgent. This Issue seeks to highlight multidisciplinary approaches that center lived experiences, cultural strengths, and community-led interventions. Contributions examine individual, interpersonal, and structural factors influencing mental health outcomes across diverse migration contexts. Topics include culturally adapted therapeutic models, trauma-informed care, mental health access and equity, resilience-building strategies, and the role of language, identity, and policy in shaping wellbeing. Special attention is given to intersectional challenges (e.g., race, gender, age, legal status) and the need for ethical, responsive, and contextually grounded solutions. This Issue aims to deepen understanding, inform public health and social policy, and amplify practices that honor the dignity and humanity of (im)migrant people worldwide.
