Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The brain–computer interface (BCI) challenge was introduced by Vidal (1973) [1] as a challenge regarding the use of brain signals to control objects outside the human body. Some of the pioneering applications were using VEP to control a cursor object on a screen [2], using CNV potential to control a buzzer [3], using a brain rhythm to control a physical object [4], and using P300 to type a text on a screen [5]. The first medical applications using SSVEP were reported in the 1990s [6,7]. The 21st century is experiencing growing research and applications in the field of BCI systems.

This Special Issue is devoted to the application of BCI in the field of health and public health. It covers not only the areas of standard medical issues such as paraplegic trauma, but also non-medical issues such as meditation and other health related issues.

Authors and researchers are invited to contribute to this Special Issue on BCI applications in health and public health. Original, unpublished research is of primary interest. However, surveys in this field as well as reflections on pioneering works are also welcome.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2500 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
