Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Mobile health (mHealth) can potentially improve the accessibility and uptake of health services worldwide. Noninfectious diseases or disorders such as hearing loss detection have seen exponential growth in the use of mHealth approaches to improve the access, convenience, and quality of healthcare services. The opportunities that mHealth technologies provide to personalise and encourage user involvement in hearing healthcare have many benefits for individuals with delays or disorders. However, the uptake and successful rehabilitation of hearing loss in hearing health care remain problematic. In addition to helping those with hearing loss, mHealth also has the potential to effectively deliver high-quality ear and hearing training to those working in the field. Accordingly, the advocation of mHealth in hearing health care may contribute to increasing the prevalence of hearing-aid use, the prevention of hearing loss, and the training of relevant practitioners.

This Special Issue of the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health (IJERPH) focuses on the current state of knowledge on the links between mHealth and hearing healthcare and any new advances in this field.
