Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to submit your manuscripts to our Special Issue of the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health (IJERPH) titled “Achieving Effective Fall Prevention and Intervention for Older Adults.”

Falls among older adults are a critical global public health concern, often resulting in serious injuries, reduced mobility, increased healthcare utilization, and loss of independence. Despite advances in research and growing awareness, many existing prevention and intervention strategies remain underused or lack sufficient integration into routine care and public health policies.

Therefore, the aim of this Special Issue is to gather cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research that addresses the development, implementation, and evaluation of effective fall prevention strategies and interventions for aging populations. We seek original research, reviews, and case studies that offer practical insights and contribute to evidence-based practices for promoting safe and healthy aging.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Evidence-based fall prevention programs and best practices;
  2. Technological innovations for fall detection, monitoring, and prevention;
  3. Environmental modifications and accessibility improvements;
  4. Risk assessment tools and predictive analytics;
  5. Community-based and multidisciplinary intervention models;
  6. Training and education for healthcare providers, caregivers, and older adults;
  7. Sociodemographic and behavioral risk factors;
  8. Health policy, system-level approaches, and implementation science.
