Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Historically, artificial intelligence (AI) has been a subject of interest in the field of computer science. AI was, however, rarely employed in the past since it requires a great deal of processing power. Nevertheless, AI and machine learning have become hot topics in recent years as a result of the advancements in computer processing units. As AI continues to expand, researchers in various fields have been provided with new opportunities to improve the quality of their work. The use of AI and machine learning models in healthcare has especially become increasingly popular.
With the advent of big data and AI, it has been made possible to explore a great deal of healthcare-related data with reduced effort. There is an abundance of disease-related data available to hospitals and health departments that can be used by AI to perform early detection and accurate diagnosis. It is possible to find a number of smart models in these databases that can assist physicians and healthcare professionals in making more informed decisions. For instance, studies on cancer detection, diagnosis, and therapy have been conducted that can assist patients in detecting cancer before it has spread to the point where it is no longer treatable. There is, however, a great deal of research that needs to be conducted as the field is still in its infancy and requires further study.
To address this issue, we are organizing a Special Issue on Intelligent Data Mining/Analytics Approaches in Healthcare. We welcome studies on all types of data-driven approaches in healthcare for the purpose of providing readers with the latest information on the potential use of AI and machine learning in helping to improve early, consistent, and precise disease diagnosis. It is our belief that high-quality studies in this field will ultimately lead to the next milestone for the application of AI in the early detection and treatment of diseases, and we invite you to take part in the process. In order to facilitate your decision-making process, we have listed some keywords below that provide examples of the possibilities available.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2500 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
