Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to contribute to this Special Issue, which will focus on the role of nursing care throughout the transplant–surgery continuum. Transplantology is one of the most demanding fields in modern medicine, requiring close interdisciplinary cooperation and highly specialized nursing skills. Advances in surgical methods, immunosuppressive treatments, prehabilitation, and extracorporeal support have greatly improved patient outcomes, but they also bring new challenges in perioperative and long-term care. Nursing professionals are essential to ensuring safety, maintaining continuity of care, providing education, and promoting effective self-management among transplant recipients. As the complexity of care grows, there is an increasing need to incorporate evidence-based practices into daily clinical decisions.

This Special Issue aims to showcase current evidence, innovations, and best practices in pre- and post-transplant nursing care. This topic aligns with the journal’s scope, emphasizing clinical care, patient outcomes, and health service delivery. This Special Issue will maintain a focused yet comprehensive clinical orientation.

In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include, but are not limited to, the following: perioperative nursing care, long-term follow-up, prehabilitation, safety and quality of care, patient education, transitional care, telehealth monitoring, and the application of extracorporeal therapies in the peri- and post-transplant population.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.
