Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The spectrum of oral diseases is so wide and they each generally require a multispecialty approach for correct management, thus including clinicians, pathologists, radiologists, etc. The incoming innovations in diagnosis and treatment may help in the management of all kinds of oral lesions. Liquid biopsy and DNA detection are recently discussed topics that can represent a possible future in diagnosis and prevention. Additionally, the available pre-operative and operative techniques combined with a more detailed pathological assessment (also by further investigations) are proven to be more effective in the pre- and post-management of oral lesion (both benign and malignant) patients. These, along with the use of medical devices such lasers, piezosurgery device, etc., surely improved the overall attention to patient management.

This Special Issue aims to define the state of art of the insights, techniques, and technologies for diagnosis and treatment in the field of oral pathology and medicine to underline their clinical applicability in the everyday practice of oral surgery and maxillo-facial surgery.
