Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Advances in healthcare delivery increasingly rely on highly skilled nursing professionals capable of leading complex clinical scenarios, particularly in high‑acuity and critical care environments. The expansion of Advanced Practice Nursing (APN) roles, together with the rapid evolution of clinical simulation technologies, offers unprecedented opportunities to enhance decision‑making, patient safety, and interprofessional collaboration. We are pleased to invite you to contribute to this Special Issue, which seeks to explore innovative approaches that strengthen advanced nursing competencies and transform clinical practice.
This Special Issue aims to gather high‑quality evidence on how advanced practice nurses contribute to improved outcomes in critical care settings and how simulation‑based education, assessment, and training can support the development of expert clinical judgment. The topic aligns closely with the scope of Healthcare, particularly in relation to clinical care, professional practice, and healthcare system improvement.
In this Special Issue, original research articles are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following: advanced practice nursing models; simulation‑enhanced training; high‑fidelity simulation in critical care; clinical decision‑making; interprofessional simulation; implementation of APN roles in acute and intensive care settings; and evaluation of competencies and patient outcomes.
