MDPI Open Science Insights: Academic Publishing Workshop with Singapore Health Services (SingHealth), 30 September 2025


MDPI is proud to partner with Singapore Health Services (SingHealth) to present an engaging workshop—Academic Publishing Workshop—focusing on the fundamentals of open access publishing.

This in-person workshop is part of MDPI’s ongoing commitment to support early career researchers in navigating the academic publishing landscape with confidence. Attendees will gain insights into MDPI’s open access publishing model and better understand the editorial and peer review processes.

Participants can also expect practical guidance on writing and improving manuscript quality and managing the peer review process, which will be delivered by MDPI editors and publishing professionals.

We look forward to a meaningful exchange of ideas and supporting students in their publishing journey!

Opening Address by Session Chair

MDPI, Open Access Model, and Journal Introduction

This session provides an introduction to MDPI and the Open Access publishing model, highlights journals in biological sciences and biomedicine, and offers a concise overview of MDPI's editorial process, including peer review and ethical practices.

11:05–11:30 a.m.

How to Write and Structure an Academic Paper

This session, developed by MDPI’s Author Services team, equips participants with practical strategies for crafting clear and coherent manuscripts. The focus will be on enhancing logical flow, readability, and impactful communication, ensuring authors can effectively convey their research to reviewers and readers alike.

11:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

How to Respond to Peer Reviewers

This session will guide authors on effectively addressing major and minor revision comments from peer reviewers. Participants will learn how to make the necessary adjustments to their manuscripts while ensuring that all feedback is adequately addressed. By mastering this process, authors can improve their chances of successful publication.
