Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

This Special Issue, "Diagnosis and Treatment of Inherited Breast Cancer", aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the latest advancements in understanding, diagnosing, and managing breast cancer predisposition due to germline mutations. It will delve into the genetic landscape of inherited breast cancer, exploring the roles of well-established high-penetrance genes (e.g., BRCA1/2, TP53, and PTEN) and emerging moderate-penetrance genes, and will cover cutting-edge diagnostic approaches, including multigene panel testing, risk stratification models, and the implications of genetic findings for screening and prevention strategies. Furthermore, it will address the evolving landscape of treatment options for individuals with inherited breast cancer, encompassing targeted therapies (e.g., PARP inhibitors), surgical considerations, and radiation approaches, while also highlighting the importance of personalized medicine and genetic counseling in this context.
