Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue is related to “the 1st International Online Conference on Environments (IOCE 2026)—Environmental understanding, managing, restoring and policy-making”, which will be held online on 2–3 March, 2026 ( https://sciforum.net/event/IOCE2026).
We invite researchers from different environmental sectors to contribute original findings, novel ideas, and scientific concepts, as well as new technologies, experiences, and policy-making strategies to help understand, monitor, restore, and protect environmental systems and their biodiversity. The main topics of the conference include the following:
- Environmental assessment methods and management technologies;
- Environmental impact and risk assessment;
- Terrestrial and marine biodiversity and habitat loss prevention;
- Urban systems and ecosystems: dynamics and functioning;
- Shared responsibility in resource use and impact generation;
- Ecological, environmental, and circular Economy.
Conference participants, as well as researchers working in this field, are invited to contribute original research papers or reviews to this Special Issue of Environments.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Environments is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
