Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The complex interplay between climate dynamics and economic outcomes raises urgent questions about justice, equity, and resilience. In particular, the ways in which climate-related risks, policies, and transitions impact poverty, inequality, and the distribution of income have become central to both academic and policy debates.

This Special Issue of Economies seeks to address these challenges by exploring the climate–economy nexus through a distributional lens. We invite theoretical, empirical, and policy-oriented contributions that investigate the uneven economic consequences of climate phenomena, the equity dimensions of mitigation and adaptation strategies, and the role of institutions in shaping these outcomes.

By highlighting issues of vulnerability and inclusion, the Special Issue aims to foster a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of how climate and economic disparities intersect. Situated within the growing body of literature in environmental and development economics, it contributes to ongoing discussions on fairness, social protection, and sustainable development in an increasingly climate-affected world.
