Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Fiscal policy and public debt management remain central to ensuring macroeconomic stability, fiscal sustainability, and economic resilience in an increasingly uncertain global environment. Recent economic shocks, demographic pressures, climate-related risks, financial market volatility, and the accelerating digital transformation have reinforced the importance of sound fiscal governance and effective public financial management.

This Special Issue aims to provide a platform for high-quality theoretical, empirical, and policy-oriented research addressing contemporary challenges in fiscal policy and public debt management. We welcome contributions on topics including fiscal sustainability, sovereign debt dynamics, public investment, taxation, fiscal governance, financial resilience, and public expenditure efficiency. The Special Issue also encourages studies examining the interaction between public finance and insurance markets, risk-sharing mechanisms, catastrophe risk financing, financial stability, and the role of insurance in strengthening economic resilience and supporting sustainable public finances.

Submissions employing innovative methodologies, including econometric analysis, financial modeling, machine learning, and other data-driven approaches, are particularly encouraged. By bringing together international perspectives and interdisciplinary research, this Special Issue seeks to contribute to the evolving literature on public finance while fostering constructive dialogue among researchers, policymakers, and practitioners on strategies that promote resilient, sustainable, and well-governed public financial systems.
