Dear Colleagues,
The rapid emergence and re-emergence of viral pathogens—including SARS-CoV-2, dengue virus, influenza, and viral hepatitis—continue to challenge global public health and highlight the urgent need for advanced antiviral therapies. This Special Issue, “Next-Generation Approaches in Clinical Antiviral Therapy: From Bench to Bedside,” aims to present cutting-edge research and clinical insights into the development, evaluation, and optimization of antiviral agents. Topics of interest include novel drug discovery platforms, host-targeted antivirals, drug repurposing, combination therapies, resistance mechanisms, and clinical trial updates. In addition, we welcome contributions exploring immunomodulatory and phytochemical compounds with antiviral potential, as well as translational studies bridging laboratory findings with clinical outcomes.
By gathering high-impact original research articles, reviews, and short communications, this Special Issue seeks to advance our understanding of antiviral therapeutics across a wide range of viral infections. The collection will serve as a valuable resource for clinicians, researchers, and pharmaceutical scientists striving to enhance treatment efficacy, reduce drug resistance, and develop safe, broad-spectrum antiviral interventions for emerging and established viral diseases.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Biomedicines is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
