Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Recently, investigations of the interplay between the cardiovascular system and inflammatory responses have gained traction as immune responses are implicated as a critical factor in the pathogenesis and treatment intervention of CVDs. This Special Issue, “Emerging Trends in Cardioimmunology: Pathomechanisms and Therapeutic Strategies”, aims to bring together cutting-edge research that delves into and attempts to decipher the intricate mechanisms inducing and scaffolding immune processes that impact cardiovascular health and disease.
In this regard, we welcome submissions of findings from investigations that explore the molecular and cellular interactions between immune cells and cardiovascular tissues – highlighting novel insights into how these interactions lead to pathological consequences such as aortic aneurysm, atherosclerosis, myocarditis, and heart failure. Manuscripts focusing on the role of inflammation, autoimmunity, and immune modulation in cardiovascular pathophysiology are of particular interest.
In addition, we encourage studies that present innovative therapeutic strategies targeting immune pathways to prevent or treat cardiovascular diseases. This includes, but is not limited to, the identification and development of immunomodulatory treatment strategies and gene therapies, as well as novel diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers that can predict the risk of incidence of CVDs.
Within this Special Issue, we invite original research articles, review papers, and clinical studies utilizing in vitro and system biology approaches that push the boundaries of current knowledge to elucidate the underlying pathomechanisms of cardiovascular remodeling and diseases facilitated by immunological responses. Through this collection, we hope to inspire further research and collaboration in this dynamic and interdisciplinary field, ultimately improving cardiovascular health outcomes in patients.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Biomedicines is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
