Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Rehabilitation robotics and the application of exoskeleton robotic devices have witnessed significant advancements in recent years and represent vital areas of research. These fields offer innovative solutions to enhance the quality of life of individuals with disabilities, injuries, or impaired motor functions.
The Special Issue welcomes original research articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and conceptual papers pertaining to various aspects of rehabilitation and exoskeleton robotics. Contributions in the following areas (but not limited to these areas) are particularly encouraged:
- Design, development, and evaluation of novel robotic exoskeletons for rehabilitation purposes.
- Assessment and monitoring of human–machine interactions and performance during rehabilitation sessions.
- Integration of biofeedback systems and neural interfaces to enhance motor function recovery.
- Advances in wearable technologies and their integration into rehabilitation programs.
- Design and development of telerehabilitation system assisted by robotic devices.
- Rehabilitation robotics driven by artificial intelligence.
- Case studies and clinical trials evaluating the efficacy and outcomes of rehabilitation and exoskeleton robotics.
- Technological innovations to improve the safety, comfort, and usability of robotic devices for rehabilitation purposes.
- Ethical considerations and social impacts of rehabilitation robotics.
We invite all researchers and experts in the field to contribute their original research and knowledge to this Special Issue. Together, let us fuel the progress of rehabilitation and exoskeleton robotics, ultimately transforming lives and promoting independence for those in need.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Bioengineering is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
