The Third Interdisciplinary Science Forum on "Human Sustainable Development: Past, Present and Future"

The Third Interdisciplinary Science Forum on "Human Sustainable Development: Past, Present and Future" will be held at the East Campus of Sun Yat-sen University on 29–31 August 2025. In addition to the invited expert report session, this forum will also include a national postgraduate academic forum.

The sustainable development of humanity, as an important challenge faced by all mankind, is a complex scientific issue that transcends the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Solving this problem requires not only maintaining one's own heritage but also absorbing from outside sources and looking towards the future. It requires cross-disciplinary cooperation among numerous disciplines such as history, archaeology, anthropology, sociology, management, political science, regional and country studies, psychology, genetics, neuroscience, ecology, environmental science, Earth science, atmospheric science, marine science, public health, information science, and computational science to jointly solve this issue. Within this context, we have invited young scholars from different professional backgrounds to jointly conduct interdisciplinary scientific discussions, engage in ideological exchanges between the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences, and refine the future characteristic interdisciplinary research model, development path of interdisciplinary fields, and training system for interdisciplinary and comprehensive talents in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences of Sun Yat-sen University.
