High Performance Motor Drives

Dear Colleagues,

I am inviting submissions to a Special Issue of the Applied Sciences journal on high-performance motor drives. We aim at collecting high-quality research papers with a special focus on developments that improve on the performance and efficiency of today’s electric motor drives. According to some estimates, electric motors account for 45% of total global electricity consumption, and this figure can only increase as electric mobility becomes increasingly common in the coming decades. Enhancements in the performance and efficiency of motors and motor drives have potentially far-reaching effects on the industry, economics, the environment, and quality of life on Earth. 

Motor drives are a multidisciplinary branch of engineering, combining mechanical, electric, electronic, and control theory expertise. Papers are invited on all the aspects of electric motor drives, from machine design to electronic converter architecture, design, and control. Topics include but are not limited to analysis, modeling, design, simulation, diagnostics, applications, model-predictive control, and sensorless control of electric drives. 

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Applied Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
