Dear Colleagues,
Biomass logistics are a key part of biofuel production systems and an essential part of the bioenergy supply chain. They involve the harvest, transportation, storage, collection, and processing of agriculturally produced plant materials. However, the high cost is one of the barriers to the widespread use of biomass for energy and fuel production. Therefore, improving and optimizing biomass logistics are important for overcoming this barrier.
This Special Issue focuses on the latest developments in the following areas:
- Quantification of resources by land methods (dendrometry, dasometry, allometric equations, etc.);
- Quantification of resources by remote sensing (multispectral images, Lidar, thermal images, drones);
- Harvest systems;
- Transportation systems;
- Logistic models;
- Feasibility studies;
- Ratios of transformation of materials;
- Logistics facilities;
- Biomass drying;
- Storage.
