Recruiting Editors for Antibiotics

To better reflect the scope of research published in Antibiotics the following fifteen sections have been launched:

  1. Antibiotic Use and Antimicrobial Stewardship
  2. Novel Antimicrobial Agents
  3. Marine Antimicrobials
  4. Antimicrobial Peptides
  5. Antibiotic Synthesis
  6. Mechanism and Evolution of Antibiotic Resistance
  7. Fungi and its Metabolites
  8. Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics of Drugs
  9. Plant-Derived Antibiotics
  10. Mechanisms of Antibiotic Action
  11. Structures of Bacterial Proteins
  12. Production and Characterization of Antibiotics
  13. Biochemical and Genetic Studies of Microorganisms
  14. Bacteriophages
  15. Clinical Trials

The editors are looking to add to the expertise in these areas by expandin the Editorial Board for the sections. Ideal candidates to join the editorial board are active, well-connected, and senior scholars in one or several of the fields listed above. They should also have a passion for journal editing, scientific communication, and digital publishing. If you are interested in this position or know of a colleague who would be a good candidtate for the role, please contact us by 31 September 2019.

Antibiotics (ISSN 2079-6382) is an international, peer-reviewed,  open access journal published online by MDPI, Basel, Switzerland. Antibiotics is indexed by SCIE (Web of Science), PubMed (NLM), Scopus (CiteScore 2.88). It ranks 6/68 (Q1) in the category "General Pharmacology, Toxicology and Pharmaceutics" and 61/266 (Q1) in "Infectious Diseases". As a member of the Editorial Board, you would have one or more of the following duties:

  • to make decisions as to whether a manuscript can be accepted or not based on the reports we collect;
  • to review a couple of papers per year;
  • to guest-edit a Special Issue on a topic related to your research interests when it is convenient for you;
  • to promote Antibiotics and increase its visibility at related academic conferences.
