Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The interest of this special issue is centered around the use of precision livestock technology (PLT) as means to improve the health and welfare of livestock. Specifically, the interest is focused on the development of real-time PLT that can continuously monitor the behavior of individual animals within a group of housed pigs to identify subclinical symptoms of morbidity and injury in livestock. The development of practical real-time PLT with these capabilities can serve as a fundamental tool for increasing producers’ ability to identify compromised animals quickly and accurately, thus allowing for rapid and effective intervention.
