Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Equine colic has been recognized as one of the most common ailments affecting equids for many years. As such, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures have been established in order to manage this common, life-threatening disease. Advances in technology promote research that eventually results in improved methods of early diagnoses of diseases. This enables earlier and more accurate assessment of the medical condition, leading to earlier and more appropriate therapy. Colic surgery is a common procedure these days, and as such, it requires adaptations and adjustments in order to improve survival and decrease complication rates. In recent years, studies have investigated the techniques and materials used in colic surgery, and due to abundant advancements in the medical field, it is necessary to gather current information on the subject and present it concisely and accurately. This is the goal of this Special Issue of Animals.
