Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Blockchain technology has emerged as a disruptive force across a wide range of domains, including finance, healthcare, supply chain, cybersecurity, quantum computing, and the Internet of Things (IoT). Its decentralized, transparent, and immutable nature offers unparalleled advantages in securing transactions and data integrity. However, as blockchain systems scale and grow in complexity, new challenges arise in areas such as anomaly detection, fraud prevention, user behavior analysis, and smart contract auditing.

This Special Issue focuses on the intersection of machine learning, data mining, and blockchain technology, aiming to highlight recent advances, novel algorithms, and intelligent systems that enhance blockchain analytics and operations. Machine learning and data mining techniques offer powerful tools for extracting meaningful patterns, detecting irregularities, and improving the efficiency and scalability of blockchain applications.

We invite high-quality, original research articles, surveys, and application-based studies that explore theoretical foundations, algorithmic innovations, or real-world implementations in this emerging field. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Machine learning for transaction and behavior analysis in blockchain;
  • Data mining algorithms for blockchain data extraction and pattern discovery;
  • Anomaly and fraud detection using AI in blockchain networks;
  • Smart contract analysis;
  • Privacy-preserving machine learning in blockchain systems;
  • Federated learning and decentralized AI models on blockchain;
  • Blockchain-based data integrity and trust evaluation using AI;
  • Scalable ML algorithms for large-scale distributed ledgers;
  • Case studies and real-world applications in finance, healthcare, or supply chain;
  • Quantum technologies in blockchain and digital signatures.

This Special Issue aims to bring together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to share innovative solutions and foster cross-disciplinary collaboration in the growing area of blockchain analytics empowered by AI.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Algorithms is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1800 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
