Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The Special Issue "Computer-Aided Diagnosis" in Applied Sciences invites authors to contribute with unpublished work. Authors are encouraged to submit novel scientific discoveries, methodological features, concepts, and techniques in the diverse field of computer-aided diagnosis, knowledge extraction and data mining applied to healthcare, as well as other related topics and difficulties, in the form of research articles, case studies, and demos.

The Special Issue "Computer-Aided Diagnosis" aims to publish manuscripts where researchers, practitioners, and industry representatives can present and discuss ongoing work and recent research results of significant contributions to enabling technologies and emerging topics related to reliable innovative solutions applied to healthcare for improving human quality of life, as well as related issues and challenges.

It also aims to address a wide range of original research topics, including theoretical, methodological, and technological advances, as well as new applications. As a result, the primary purpose of this Special Issue is to aid in the development of innovative ways in computer-assisted diagnostics, knowledge extraction, and data mining. Furthermore, it aims to contribute to enabling technologies that will improve human quality of life, resulting in societies that are healthier, more innovative, and secure.

Topics to be discussed in this Special Issue include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Computer Aided Diagnosis;
  • CDSS – clinical decision support systems;
  • Knowledge discovery and embedded analytics;
  • Knowledge representation and reasoning;
  • Data mining;
  • Machine learning;
  • Pattern detection and hypothesis generation data.
  • Artificial intelligence systems;
  • Pervasive healthcare;
  • Statistical analysis and characterization of health data;
  • Natural language processing—mining free text in electronic medical records.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. AI is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by MDPI.
