Young Investigator Award

Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce that the winner of the Actuators 2020 Young Investigator Award is Dr. Ka-Wai Kwok.

Dr. Ka-Wai Kwok is an Associate Professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Hong Kong. Dr. Ka-Wai Kwok’s research interests are in surgical robotics, human–robot control interfaces, intraoperative medical image processing, and high-performance computing for medical applications. He received his Ph.D. degree from Imperial College London in 2012. To date, he has co-authored papers with more than 26 clinical fellows and 50 engineering scientists, and he has been involved in the design of various types of surgical robotic devices and interfaces for endoscopy, laparoscopy, arthroscopy, and intra-cardiac catheter intervention. He has co-authored 2 book chapters and 43 journal papers, and he has also been recognized by various scientific communities through international conference/journal paper awards. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Ka-Wai Kwok on his outstanding achievements.

As the awardee, Dr. Ka-Wai Kwok will receive a prize of 2000 CHF, an offer to publish a paper free of charge before 31 December 2020 in Actuators after peer review, and an electronic certificate.
