19–20 February 2026 XVI Meeting of Young Chemical Engineers (SMLKI 2026)

Zagreb, Croatia

The 16th Meeting of Young Chemical Engineers (XVI. SMLKI) will be held on 19–20 February 2026 at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Trg Marka Marulića 19, Zagreb.

Since its first edition in 1996, this traditional event has brought together students, young researchers, and professionals in the fields of chemical engineering and related disciplines for more than three decades. Organized by the employees of the Faculty, the Meeting highlights the importance of continuous development in chemical engineering and provides a platform to showcase excellence in scientific and professional research.

The goal of the Meeting is to promote young experts and the profession as a whole by presenting results from undergraduate and graduate studies, as well as Bachelor and Master theses. It also fosters collaboration between academia and industry while encouraging the exchange of innovative ideas, knowledge, and experiences.

Participation is free of charge for students, offering them a valuable opportunity to gain experience in presenting their work, develop communication and professional skills, and establish connections with potential employers and collaborators.

Conference sections include the following:

  • Chemical Engineering;
  • Biochemical Engineering;
  • Environmental Engineering;
  • Materials and Product Development;
  • Applied Chemistry.

Over the years, the Meeting has attracted participants not only from Croatia but also from abroad, including Germany, Hungary, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and the United Kingdom, giving the event a strong international character.

Official languages: Croatian and English (without simultaneous translation).

Abstract submission and registration:
