Oral, Volume 3, Issue 1

March 2023 - 12 articles

Cover Story: Force/torque measurements were carried out using the Orthodontic Measurement and Simulation System (OMSS), which is a software-connected system, housed in a temperature-controlled chamber, developed by the Oral Technology team at the University Hospital Bonn in Germany, used to measure biomechanical characteristics of different orthodontic appliances, and to perform virtual treatment planning and simulation for orthodontic movements. It consists of two sensors that can measure forces and moments in all three planes of movement, mounted on motorized stages with full three-dimensional mobility. Overall, OMSS is a powerful tool for orthodontists and can improve the accuracy and efficiency of orthodontic treatment. View this paper
