- Human papillomavirus vaccination effectively prevents oral infection with high-risk viral types in adolescents and young adults.
- Vaccination programs have changed the epidemiology of pediatric otolaryngological infections, highlighting the emergence of non-vaccine pathogens and serotypes.
- Achieving and maintaining high vaccination coverage is essential to reduce the burden of preventable otolaryngological diseases in childhood.
- Human papillomavirus vaccination may contribute to the primary prevention of oropharyngeal cancer by reducing oral viral infections.
- Continuous epidemiological surveillance and the development of broader-coverage vaccines are needed to sustain and improve preventive effectiveness.
