Comments and Suggestions for Authors

In this study authors designed medical tour bus routes using the differential evolution algorithm.

Although it is said that a bus route design for a medical tour bus is designed in this paper, there is no difference from the general bus route design.

Although it is suggested that DE applied in this paper has superior results to GA, it is not known whether the result of DE is the optimal value or whether it is superior to other methods other than GA. Moreover, it seems that the improvement effect of DE was calculated incorrectly.

In addition, since the demand for use, which is an important consideration in the general bus route design, was not taken into account, and the method was used to connect only points of interest in the shortest distance, this could be limitedly applied only when the bus capacity was sufficient due to the low demand for use. There is a limit in that it cannot take into account the variable demand for use with this method.

'4.4 The smart bus's system for medical tourist design' does not seem to have anything to do with the main content of the paper.

We are grateful for your astute remark, and the topics have been changed to "smart bus system design." To solve the entire issue of people not using public transportation, we just want to incorporate the smart bus system with the other content of the entire article.

page 9, line 294: Table 2 -> Table 4

We appreciate your insightful observation, and the error has been fixed.

(reveals that line 326 originally had table 4 but has since been altered to table 5 as a result of the addition of another table (Table 1) to the manuscript)

page 17, table 12: 321.4 minutes is better than 305.3 minutes? and the number of % different should be re-checked

We greatly appreciate your insightful observation. We have made the necessary corrections and double-checked all values that the change to the document had an impact on.

Is the design of medical tour bus routes an open innovation?

According to Virginia (2008), the firm's or supply chain's extensive data sets must be open in order for process and product design to be successful. Additionally, the open innovation design idea for customers makes use of the demand, need, and requirement of the customer in order to create the product from the customer need to offer the customers.

The requirements for the route design come from our survey and are made available to the public in this study. The routing design uses the customer information to design the travel routes using open-sourced data and improves the existing techniques by using the new local search method that is proposed in this study. The smart bus is ultimately created based on client demands that take into account the second-step route planning. The present IOT database, which is an open innovation, is used by the smart bus technology. Therefore, we can claim that the open innovation design idea is where our routing design techniques come from and that they give both the open innovation concept's methodology and data.

Smart buses don't seem to have anything to do with bus route design

The smart bus system consists of three components: (1) smart routing that lets passengers choose their preferred route (resulting from our survey) ; (2) an application that can update bus routes and provide information about current traffic conditions; and (3) a smart bus that can coordinate with the first two components. However, the smart bus is a component of the intelligent bus system that we create.

This study aims to create a public bus route in Ubon Ratchathani that will help the city's rapidly expanding medical tourism industry. The authors provide details about the construction of bus routes using the differential evolution algorithm (DE). A web-based smart public transportation system has also been built. According to the computational results, as showcased by the authors, the new routes using DE lead to a 5.8% reduction in travel distance when compared to the output of the well-known genetic method. They claim that more than 98.5% of visitors will be satisfied with the new routes, and once they start running, they plan to use public transit 100% of the time. Accordingly, they assert that the public transportation providers may also get compensation in the form of service fees from the Thai government as a higher level of service will draw more customers, which will ultimately boost revenue. Additionally, it will serve as an example for supporting cross-border medical services for major cities like Ubon Ratchathani that are border cities and have connections to other countries.

I put my findings as under:

1.     The organisation of the paper is good, except that it lacks a real literature review part, which is crucial for studies that are based on or seek to investigate and advance the present status of the field (as is the case of this study). Please additionally include a comparison chart that not only provides specifics of the previous work but also acknowledges your contribution (research gap). At the beginning of the relevant literature review section, one or two sentences should be devoted to the justification or necessity of the study, followed by the overall sequence of paragraphs. The article would benefit immensely from a revised/new literature review.

2.      Ubon Ratchathani's climate may also be discussed and incorporated into this investigation. There is a need for time to discuss climate change. And you are aware that temperatures are rising everywhere.

3.      Additionally, the linguistic usage is subpar. The manuscript is wordy. Please have it examined by an English-speaking, subject-matter expert editor.

For the insightful advice, I sincerely appreciate it. Your proposal is addressed in line 180–210, and we have added the information there. Table 1 is also intended to indicate the research gap from other earlier related work and be used to assess whether our research strengthens the technique of the existing studies while also broadening the scope of the research issues. To help the reader grasp earlier material before concluding it in Table 1, we have purposefully placed this context in the final section of the literature review rather than at the start. We are hopeful that the reviewer will appreciate our intention. Once again, thank you so much for your assistance in enhancing our research by making the excellent recommendation.

Ubon Ratchathani's climate may also be discussed and incorporated into this investigation. There is a need for time to discuss climate change. And you are aware that temperatures are rising everywhere.

To explore the effects of climate change and global warming as well as the potential to mitigate these issues in light of the current state of the globe, lines 680 to 712 are added.

Additionally, the linguistic usage is subpar. The manuscript is wordy. Please have it examined by an English-speaking, subject-matter expert editor.

We sent the article to the MDPI service for English proofreading. I appreciate your advice very much, and the English Certificate is attached.

The paper has been improved. But important questions still remain unresolved.

First, although it is said that a bus route design for a medical tour bus is designed in this paper, there is no difference from the general bus route design.

Second, although it is suggested that DE applied in this paper has superior results to GA, it is not known whether the result of DE is the optimal value or whether it is superior to other methods other than GA. Moreover, it seems that the improvement effect of DE was calculated incorrectly.

There is a limit in that it cannot take into account the variable demand for use with this method.
