Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Thus, this method of antibiotic stewardship evaluated on the basis of literature studies by the group led by Costanza Di Chiara is an important element of antimicrobial stewardship. Its contribution to clinical practice consists in the synthesis of antibiotic doses used in different studies and the evolution of cases, which is a real help for clinicians who would use these techniques, even in off-label conditions, when necessary. Last but not least, the permanent analysis of data from the literature would be of real help in the event of including these irrigation or local administration of antibiotics in treatment and prophylaxis guidelines.

Reviewer 2 Report

The manuscript reads well and the results are well presented. The topic (antimicrobial irrigation in children) fills a gap and is important. Tables contain valuable literature summaries. In my humble opinion, this well-written review manuscript may be published present form.
