Coagulant Plus Bacillus nitratireducens Fermentation Broth Technique Provides a Rapid Algicidal Effect of Toxic Red Tide Dinoflagellate
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
Authors demonstrated the application of Polyaluminum chloride (PAC) to trat the red tide bloom of Gymnodinium catenatum at 90mg/L, the removal rate reached 100%.
1. In introduction section add, the impact of red tide bloom
2. Figure 1 representation is very poor, Should be replaced with better version.
3. The details of microscope used for this study and preparation of sample for analysis?
4. The details of UV spectroscopy used for this study and preparation of sample for analysis, and concentration of sample etc., ?

Reviewer 2 Report
Dear Editor and Authors,
The manuscript entitled “Combined algicidal effect of Bacillus nitratireducens fermentation broth and PAC coagulation to toxic dinoflagellate Gymnodinium catenatum” provides a basis for improving the control of the marine red tide caused by the dinoflagellate G. catenatum, using environmentally friendly methods.
Only few points must be addressed.
Title: Replace “coangulation” by “coagulation”.
Also in the Title, the authors should not use abbreviations.
The species identifier should be indicated the first time it is mentioned in the manuscript (Gymnodinium catenatum H.W. Graham).
Keywords: Replace G. catenatum by Gymnodinium catenatum.
The authors need to uniformize: a) the measuring units (mL instead of ml); b) the space between number and units (e.g., 10 g/L instead of 10g/L); c) the abbreviation used for the bacterial fermentation broth (is it ba3, Ba3?).
Section 2.4.2: 180r/min is 180 rpm?
Figures 4, 6, and 9 have low definition. In figure captions, avoid using “4(B)”. Instead, place only the letter before or after each description.
Add a “Conclusions” section and improve the conclusions drawn. How can your research effectively improve the control of marine red tide? Provide some future perspectives, highlighting the novelty of your work, and the interest of your results, opening doors for the effective application.
