Reviewer 2 Report

- This manuscript is a continuation of what was done ten years ago by the same authors, "J. Vac. Sci. Technol. A 2012, 30, pp. 31506". Although it provides some new data, but I don't see any novelty in the topic.

- The objective of the work is not clear.

- Why AlN phase is not detected in the XRD patterns?

- The English of the manuscript should be revised completely.

- Ref. 14, what is cfr 8?

- Ref. 23, what is cfr 4?

- What are HER and OER?

Reviewer 3 Report

The manuscript can be accepted for publication after some corrections as follows:

1. Fig.4: the comment on x-direction needs to be more clear, what is 2theta

2. Fig.10a: position 1097 cm-1 needs more explanation

3. Fig.10a: the red line goes up, what does this mean differently from the other two lines?

4. Tables 3, 4 need to edit the first column

5. The introduction should cite some published articles related to the content of the article, for example:

Round 2

Reviewer 1 Report

The paper has been greatly improved. However, minor revisions concerning references must be performed before be published.

The references must be numbered in numerical order through the text and reference 4 is still after ref 3.

The list of references still displays cf. For instance ref 15 is cf8 whereas it is the same reference, 15=8. Same remark for ref 21 and  28 which are ref 19 and 4, respectively.

Please, check if ref 17, 18 and 20 correspond to what is written in the text.
