Derivation of a universally valid array factor of a conformal arrays based on phase compensation and genetic-learning particle-swarm optimization

By Jinsu Park 1, Hong Jun Lim 1, Son Trinh-Van 1, Daesung Park 2, Youn Kwon Jung 2, Dongju Lim 2 and Keum Cheol Hwang 1,*

This paper proposed a Bernstein polynomial generalization method based on Genetic Learning Particle Swarm Optimization. Simulation tests are performed to verify the performance of the design. The whole structure of the paper is fine. Besides, I have the following comments for your consideration.

 1. In traditional array signal processing research, most researchers focus on planar arrays. Why do we study the conformal array in this paper? What is the advantage of conformal array compared to planar arrays?

 2. The labels and text in Fig. 3 and Fig. 4 are too small to read. Please revise the figures.

 3. In section 2.2, what is the simulation parameters? How did the authors establish the simulation models?

 4. Do we have actual sensors to establish the proposed conformal array? Can we perform experimental tests on actual array to verify the results?

Reviewer 3 Report

Dear Authors,

I have some comments on your article:

1. 2. Main Texts - please think about changing the title of this section

2. I suggest that you introduce dashed grid lines in all drawings.

3. Please check all equations, symbols, and indexes used in the text and equations.

4. Literature should be checked if there are no newer items. Especially from the last 18 months. It would be good to add several references.

5. In the summary of the article, please provide more information about the practical possibility of implementing the proposed methods.
