Reviewer 2 Report

The paper “A Quasi Single-phase Model for Debris-flows Incorporating 2
non-Newtonian Fluid Behavior ” is interesting and well suited for the Water hournal. Below please find some minor issues to resolve.

1.

It should be more preciously explained why the Hersch-Bulkley -Papanastasiou model is suitable for modeling of debris flow. Maybe some other models would be more adequate ?

2.

Was the mathematical model solved by means of some available CFD solver or by in-house code ?

3.

The figures should have better quality (larger fonts)

4

Figure 1.

The present model and Xin model gives very similar results. What is the main benefit of the present model compared to Xin ?

5.

Figure 1

How do you explain the difference between measurements and simulations for x = 66 m?
