Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The paper represents an important contribution to the scientific literature in this area. However, references are missing for several statements in the manuscript text, and this manuscript would also benefit from editing for grammar and style.

Author Response

Dear reviewer,

We are grateful for your helpful comments on our manuscript and very much appreciate your time to review this work.

In response to the first suggestion, we have incorporated a few missed references. The new references are highlighted within the manuscript. On one hand, there are five new references: one in the introduction, and four in the discussion part. These four references provide support to the comment that outlined the biological mechanisms that can be modulated by diet and are linked to cancer. On the other hand, some references already included in our previous list, have been added in the discussion section in order to make the comments more complete.

Finally, following your advice we are submitting the manuscript for extensive English revision to one of the editing services of the journal.

We hope you find the revised manuscript suitable, and we thank you for your interest in our research.

Reviewer 2 Report

This manuscript has not revealed anything that we do not know but the systematic review and metanalysis presented emphasizes the evidence that dietary intervention is beneficial to the cancer patients.
